![]() Additionally, I wrote down the important parts of the story such as listing the characters and their characteristics, the situations and solutions of the story, and its theme and setting. Long texts can usually get boring the more I read it so I made sure to take breaks in between and made sure that I understood what I just read. Overall, my summary and response was an assignment that I had to be a critical thinker and step out of my comfort zone in order to fully develop a good thesis and an overall good essay.Īt the beginning, the process of reading Farmer Giles of Ham was simple and I used my knowledge on reading a long text such as this one to completely understand what was going on and fully engage in it. ![]() In addition, figuring out what the main point of my essay was going to be about was also a difficult task.
